Itinerary:
Thur. Sept . 4 – Arrive Phoenix and drive to Sedona (2 hours north) for Check in by 4 PM. Dinner on your own and time to explore the town.
Fri. Sept. 5 – Morning Yoga. Day of hiking, & ceremonies as we explore the majestic red rock formations. Evening Fire Ceremony.
Sat. Sept. 6 – Meet for a full day of experiential workshop. Break for dinner and visiting local art galleries
Sun. Sept. 7 – Early Morning visit to the Chapel in the Rocks for meditation, then onto Cathedral Rock for a hike to the top. Reconvene to close our weekend by 3PM. Evening free time or departure to airport for red-eye flights.
Mon. Sept 8 – Morning departures for Phoenix airport
Hiking and Ceremony: We will spend Friday, and part of Saturday and Sunday hiking into powerful sites on the land which involves some uphill trekking but mostly gentle inclines. Distances will not be over 2 miles. We will perform ceremonies in these outdoor locations as well as a Fire Ceremony at night back in Sedona. The altitude is around 7000 feet .We suggest you are comfortable hiking and being in the sun and bring proper attire and footwear.
Our Indoor Venue: We will be gathering for our indoor class time at the beautiful and colorful home of a local Sedona artist. Her comfortable home is filled with art and has breathtaking views.
Lodging: We have reserved a block of rooms at the Sedona Real Inn, conveniently located close to restaurants, stores and galleries. Great pool and good breakfast restaurant. You will be required to confirm your own reservation through the motel at Jessica@Sedonareal.com. Rates are $115, nightly double occupancy ( $58 for each person). You may reserve a single room. You must confirm your reservation by Aug.4 to secure your stay. Reduced rate accommodations available. Please check with Rita for details
Transportation: We are suggesting that groups of women rent cars at the Phoenix airport and drive to Sedona together. Then you will have your own transportation once there, as it is not a walking- friendly town. To get from motel to our meeting site is about 4 miles. You will then be able to also drive to the hiking and ceremony sites. We can help with the car rental arrangements and with flight suggestions.
Shuttles: Shuttle vans are available at Phoenix airport for round trips to Sedona. They range in cost from $55 - $75 each way. If you choose this method of transport, let us know.
Climate and Temperatures: September is known as the most moderate time to be in Sedona. Daytime temperatures range from 75-85 degrees and nights are cool. There is a lot of sunshine and stars to soak up!

In this season of letting go, we practice dropping into stillness as a necessary step in communicating with the voice of our authentic self. We use this practice of mindfulness to develop awareness and compassion while witnessing our thoughts and our emotions. This process allows us to transform our emotional reactions and create deep listening and speaking from the heart. Our horse teachers play a central role by giving us immediate feedback that mirrors our emotional state and body language, modeling emotional congruence.
