Healing the Gulf
- July 13, 2010
While reading a recent news report on the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, a deep heaviness settled into my heart. The disaster’s impact continued to spread further across the Gulf, wreaking greater havoc on the residents that live both along its coast, and within its waters. The article highlighted how more marine life was perishing as a result of the oil being set on fire. The destruction of fragile natural habitat was accelerating, and the flames were killing the animal and sea life. A feeling of helplessness washed over me, the same feeling that many awaken to each day when they realize the oil continues to flood into the ocean.
The heaviness in my heart was sadness and frustration at a situation beyond my ability to make sense of, or reconcile its impact on the future of mother earth. Fortunately for me, that afternoon I hosted a conference call with the Life Mastery Programs Associate Teachers and shared with them the deep emotions that were surfacing.
An insightful conversation ensued, one that helped me shift my interpretation of how I might better respond. Our sharing also helped me, in a small way, to move into a personal action here on the Pacific coast, as I connected with the larger intention of healing that many people around the globe, in their heartfelt concern, are contributing to.
Down on Santa Monica beach the next morning, the air was clear and the sound of the waves seemed to wash me of the burden I was carrying. I became immersed in the sound, smell and energy of the ocean’s power, and transported into a place where I felt one with the water. I reached into the ocean, and whispered softly of my love and gratitude for this grand body of water and all the waters that flow across the planet. Instantly I felt my heart opening fully, and I envisioned my little prayer moving through the molecules of the Pacific around the Cape Horn, up into the Atlantic and eventually streaming into the Gulf of Mexico.
When an event of this proportion ocurrs, it touches each and everyone of us. It’s important to allow our true feelings to be expressed, as we are witness to this tragic occurrence. Likely the waters of the Gulf and the habitats of both the humans and the animal kingdom, will never be as they were. Things are changed forever. There is a valid reason to feel the real emotions that arise within us… sadness, anger, frustration and concern. As the emotions surface, we can choose to allow them to move through our bodies…I gave some of my sadness to the Pacific and to the wind that accompanied each of the waves that day.
I watch CNN; the day is number 72 and the oil continues to flow. I feel the emotion rise up in my chest and I remind myself, “What is the energy and the message I want to be contributing and sending out in this moment?” I notice that there is that vibration of hopelessness that is present and I acknowledge it by breathing into it, giving it passage through my body on my exhale. Then, once I am more present to what I am feeling, I can better answer my question and make a new choice.
Because whatever we think and feel moves out from us and into our environment, we can choose with this monumental opportunity to become even more aware of what our response is. What we hold in our emotional bodies does have an effect not only how we feel but also the energy seeps out into our environment and our interactions with each other. That is why it so imperative that we understand the effect of our both our thinking and the quality of our emotions.
Maybe not so coincidently, the esteemed Japanese scientist, Dr. Emoto, through scientific experiments proved that our thoughts affect the crystalline structure of water. Negative words and thoughts resulted in the water turning dull and the crystals were misshapen. While positive thoughts, like gratitude, hope, and faith created brilliant and symmetrical, crystals. Now more than ever it is clear that water everywhere could benefit from our increased awareness of the intentions we are holding in our thoughts, especially as we put our attention on the Gulf of Mexico.
So, I offer a suggestion … visit a body of water nearby … a river, stream, ocean or even a sculptural fountain … and send the message you most want to convey to the most life sustaining substance on earth, water.
Dr Emoto offered a simple prayer, one that you can repeat over and over again (even in your morning shower) and could help you in moving through your hopeless feelings, to a more beneficial response,” I send the energy of love and gratitude to the water and all the living creatures in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings. To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, planktons, corals, algae and all living creatures…I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you.”
Trust Yourself! Trust Life!
- May 03, 2010
Today more than ever, as we feel the shifts that are happening in our lives, it is important to choose to align our awareness with the biggest source of energy there is, life! Life is what we are. Life is what we share with each other. Life is the easiest way to name what it is that created us. You may choose to call it God, Light, the Great Mystery or Spirit. All these descriptors convey this indescribable energy from which we are born and are always connected to.
Life inspires us to birth Love into manifestation. Without each one of us choosing a more loving response, a more trusting response to what we encounter in our daily lives, it doesn’t happen. There are many ways to bring love into manifestation and tap deeper the well of life that is within; and one is choosing to trust.
When we have trust in ourselves, even when we aren’t clear about our direction, or when faced with uncertainty, we create a channel for life energy to flow less impeded. Trusting oneself is really choosing to open our heart to what we don’t know, or to what scares us.
Trusting is not a concept. It is a feeling within the body. It originates in the heart and when we feel it, we move beyond the idea of what trust is and instead actualize it, and live it. This feels expansive, and opens the gate of the heart to flow more freely.
Imagine that right within our heart lives the ability to meet the changes that might challenge us. Rather than collapsing into doubt or cynicism, which is just one way fear disguises itself, we rise to meet it. Notice the difference in the energy of the words: meet vs. collapse. When we meet a challenge with trust we increase our ability to respond to life, and thus open up even more energy to sustain our lives, our expressions and creations. Trusting has the ability to stabilize us when an insecure feeling bubbles up inside of us.
The energy of trust is like a magnet – the more you have, the more you attract. Imagine how it would feel to really be able to stand in trusting your heart and what it feels? Doubt would no longer have a hold over you. You could move forward with more ease. Trust that you already have what it takes to make your dreams reality. Trust that you can transform your life in the ways that your heart and soul calls.
Please take a moment and bring your attention to your heart for a few breaths? Allow yourself to feel that each breath supports the thought, “I trust this heart of mine. I trust that I am connected to Life.” Opening to trust life itself is accessible, right here, in this breath and your next. Watch what happens as you repeat this and connect to the feeling of trust inside each time you feel tense or anxious.
Choosing to trust life creates an energetic stance in the world that touches everything you touch, everything you see, and everyone you meet. Trusting life to bring you what you need changes everything. It fills you with energy to create your beloved projects, relationships, and professions. Even the often encountered conundrum of the process of transforming ourselves into more authentic beings, is fed and gently supported by choosing to trust life. Trust life and feel the difference!
A Heart Opening Experience
- March 08, 2010
Recently, our Life Mastery Dreaming community and a group of wonderful new friends made another memorable journey to Teotihuacán, the ancient Toltec pyramids in Mexico. Each time we go to Teo, another layer of deepening on our path of our self-discovery is revealed: new ways to be more awake in our lives, to be more in touch with the source of energy that we carry within, and to embrace the potential of living from the heart.
As a teacher, I have observed that the more I can bring a person to experience the essence that already lives within them (rather than telling them in words), the more they will be inspired to awaken to that energy. Once they feel this resonance inside, they will want to live from that vibration more and more. That is how it happened for me.
Well, each person on this journey experienced this very real power that lives at the center of our being. Beyond words, beyond description, just pure experience of what we are all connected to, at all times. Reflected in the clear light of the sacred place in Teo, each of us embraced our true selves as we are.
This particular trip was especially focused on opening our hearts to how we perceive and dream our lives. Our mind does the dreaming and our bodies feel the impact of the quality of that dream. If we want our personal dream to bring us happiness and fulfillment, we need to find the courage to look within to our hearts as the guiding force in our lives, and get clear about what we are choosing instead of this.
Our heart center is the portal where we open to feel all that we are. During these days spent together, we opened a space of possibility and came away with a real sense of how to live our lives from more awareness of our connection to life. The time spent there allowed the energy of this opening to be felt as something real in the body. We created and experienced an energetic “groove” that our body remembers.
The energy from our recent retreat in Teo fed and empowered us. It now naturally wants to flow forward and inform our daily choices more and more. After feeling so good, we want to experience this quality of energy again and again.
Now that we are back home, in our familiar dreams, we can quiet ourselves, receive our breath, and focus within on the memory of the sensations of fullness. This allows us tap into our incredible journey again and again. Keeping the heart center open allows us to live more lucidly, more in the flow of life.
Of course we will face challenges in our old dream but we are now better prepared in how we might respond to them. When in the elevated energy of a group in a sacred place, we may notice how clear the choice is to live from our hearts. But what choices are we drawn to make when we are at home? Will we react from our old limited ways of thinking? We might not always be able to make the choice to go beyond what closes our heart and instead choose what frees it. But we can certainly feel the difference.
The choice to open or close your heart to what we face each day is what defines the spiritual path and delineates our practice. We can feel the difference when we choose to live from our hearts. The results are immediate. Our lives and our creations are seeped in a quality that feels like honey – the honey from the heart. We can look around and watch this sweet quality manifest all around us.
So my desire for each of you, for all of us, is to find this golden place within as often as possible, to first give it generously to ourselves, and subsequently to share it with everyone who is in our lives. Then, with pleasure, we can watch it ripple out into the larger world, in waves of uplifting energy sent from our hearts.
AWAKEN The Film Premier
- December 31, 2009
We live in a time where our spiritual quest is actively being supported and inspired by mainstream media like, books, magazines, TV and film. More of what inspires us to be committed to our inner discovery is easier to access, allowing us to bring into our everyday lives the mystical aspect of life. The idea of “awakening” is one that has inspired many of us. The words itself whispers that there is something more to be discovered about ourselves and our place in the world.
Awakening can elude to the image of one who suddenly opens their eyes and comes out of a dream of sleep and in this process our life takes on new meaning, insight and purpose. We can see ourselves in a new way that brings more consciousness forward that we then create our lives from. The every day and the mundane become infused with the mystery and a certain delight that leaves us wanting more. Imagine that we each desire more awakening, more awareness, more self realization and more community to share this with and this becomes what moves us into interaction with life. What could be the results of such a desire?
It is with this desire that a group of very unique individuals, myself included have come together to create a documentary film on how we each are inspired and moved by the sheer idea that we are magnificent beings, here to express the infinite spirit that moves through each of us and love sharing that message with others. I have the honor of being one of the five spiritual teachers featured in the new film “Awaken” which will have a premier in Los Angeles in the spring.
“Awaken” documents the spiritual wisdom teachings of five teachers, sages and shamans from, diverse spiritual background’s about how to awaken to a higher consciousness amidst the current energetic shift on Earth. Collectively featured in the film through a series of individual teachings, each of the master healers share the significance of this present time of planetary evolution and guide the viewer to embrace the current global crisis as an impetus to awaken to becoming more responsible in their choices. Each sage communicates their unique message and energy to assist on the personal journey of self discovery and remembrance that is available to each one of us at this fortuitous time in our human evolution.
I have had a wonderful experience in the process of filming this project. Danisa Perry, a former student of mine had shared with me over 10 years ago her vision of the film she wanted to make. At that time we were both living in LA, she was studying film making and Spiritual Psychology at the University of Santa Monica. When she shared her dream of the film, I must admit I was very skeptical, especially since she was talking about an energy that would come through and beyond the visuals and the spoken words to touch and inspire the audience.
At that time, before I had any real evidence of the power of transformational energy to be transmitted through electronic media, I thought her vision was a bit of a fantasy. Then several years ago Danisa found me on the east coast and shared how the film was underway and invited me to be a part of it. Most importantly, she shared with me the means she had discovered that allowed each teacher direct, energetic contact with the audience through the filmed media. That her priority in the making of the film was to have the viewer “experience” the energy of the master teachers, beyond their personality, but more as a direct channel of wisdom that could create a transformative experience akin to being in the presence of the sage.
Danisa, in all her courage and with the power of her vision, brought her film crew to Amy’s Healing Center in CT in 2007 and I was able to experience first hand her brilliant method for creating the film of her dreams….and soon to be mine as well.
Last spring it became clear to me that the interview and teaching that I had filmed a year earlier was outdated and no longer was the energetic quality that I wanted to convey. So I asked Danisa if I could re film my piece. She gladly agreed and invited me to come to Santa Barbara to where she and Pablo Diaco, the co-director were going to be filming Barbara Marx Hubbard who had just signed on to be our “elder master.”
Knowing of Barbara and having great respect for her work, I was on my way to California with great excitement and anticipation. Meeting Barbara and discussing at length our views on spiritual awareness, community, and our work was beyond anything I had experienced in terms of the quality of vibration that was present as we spoke. I had a very clear moment of experiencing what the true collaborative spirit is about. A moment in which sharing ideas and visions that inspired us, opened up and new information, a more clear version of our former ideas, for us both, came through. She was a mirror in a new way for me and I for her. At any rate, the current film reflects this lovely energy of collaboration and clear communication. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a diverse and lovely family and I hope our desire to share with the world our message and our love comes through for each of you as you view the film.
A west coast premier is in the planning. The film makers are actively looking at retreat, and spiritual centers as locations to premier Awaken, so please let me know if you know of such a place. The DVD will also be on sell on the website. www.awakenthefilm.com

A Mind-Boggling, Heart-Opening Power Tool
As human beings, we have been gifted with a tool that impacts every aspect of our lives, as well as the world around us. We all have it and have been using it daily. In fact, everything that is appearing in the world today is the result of how we use this power tool. Yet for most of us, learning how to effectively use this tool is a relatively new discovery since it doesn’t come with an operating manual. We’re only now beginning to realize the true power it contains. And it boggles the mind and opens the heart – once you get the hang of it.
When we discovered this power tool for ourselves, and crafted techniques to harness it, our lives transformed. We’re now living authentically, manifesting our dreams. We use it daily to fine tune the quality of our lives and the lives of those around us. The reason we tout this tool with such enthusiasm is because we have experienced what life is like without knowing how to use it. But before we reveal this tool, let us tell you our story.
Our Quest
There was a time when we had no idea how we created the problems and heartache that appeared year after year in our lives. We were baffled why our intimate personal relationships were difficult – or dissolving. We felt dissatisfied with our jobs. We couldn’t get ahead financially. We were bouncing checks and running up debt. With all the stress, we rarely made the time to take care of ourselves. We usually pretended that everything was okay, when inside it definitely was not. We chased after impossible images of perfection causing headaches and frustration. And deep down, if truth be told, we believed we were not good enough, not smart enough, and not loveable enough – and we believed we had plenty of evidence to prove it.
Then, we heard an internal call to change. As if seeing the wreckage of our lives wasn’t enough, our hearts pleaded with us to wake up. Take a leap of faith! Please, make a change. When we could no longer ignore this call, we embarked on a journey of self-discovery. We sat with our limited ways of thinking and our emotional pain. We shed our share of tears. We read books, sat at the feet of spiritual masters, and attended transformational seminars.
While working toward personal freedom and self-awareness, we garnered many helpful techniques along the way. We made huge gains in our internal and external worlds, but something was missing. We found it challenging to practically apply the spiritual concepts in everyday situations – especially when confronted with the inevitable challenges and emotions that arise in life. We were encouraged to find our life’s purpose, transform our thinking, and process our emotions, yet no one broke down exactly how to do so. When we looked around us at fellow seekers, we saw that many others were also struggling to merge the spiritual and the practical.
Over time, we synthesized spiritual teachings from different traditions, with scientific theory and our own experiences into a form that worked for us. We recognized that examining our thoughts wasn’t enough to make a lasting transformation in our lives. Re-living emotional patterns didn’t work either. Yet when we simplified how our thoughts and emotional energy are connected and how this affects what we attract in our daily lives, then we created a noticeable difference in the quality of our daily lives.
The results of our quest are The Four Insights. The Four Insights into emotional energy work to assist us in creating a life based in authenticity. Because The Insights are a radically new way of thinking about and experiencing emotion, we also demonstrate practical applications on how to implement these Insights into everyday challenges. When practiced regularly, you can shift what you contribute to your life and to the world, and begin attracting the life of your dreams. The outcome is feeling good from the inside out.
The results of our transformation are beyond words. As a result of using personally using The Four Insights, we’ve emerged with an unshakeable connection to, and belief in, our authentic selves. Today, we have lives that astound and delight us (albeit are works in progress). We live in beautiful towns by the sea with a supportive community of friends, family, and husbands with whom we share mutual admiration and respect. We feel abundant and see this manifested in many ways: with bank accounts that are in the positive and the opportunity to fill our days doing what we most love, what inspires us, and what brings us pleasure. We are content to juggle businesses, homes full of good times, food, and laughter, the joys of motherhood, yoga practices, exercise, and writing and teaching careers. Our lives are now in service – to ourselves and to others. There has been a marked improvement in the quality of our lives, as well as in the lives of those who came to us seeking similar self-awareness and transformation.
Most importantly, we’ve connected to what our hearts and souls yearned for – authenticity, balance, passion, and creativity. Yes, we still face personal challenges. But our understanding of the power of our mind, body, heart, and soul have healed and empowered us. Our conviction in the tools and techniques we’ve discovered guides us. And we have no doubt that these Insights and their practical applications can work just as well for you too.
Sounds great, but will this tool work for me?, you wonder. Perhaps, like we were, you’d like to make some changes in your life or in the world at large. Yet you’ve found yourself in a similar conundrum: you might know your life isn’t working – or it’s not as magnificent as you desire, but you don’t know how to remedy this. Perhaps you are ready to explore a transformational path at a deeper level. Maybe your world was rocked by events or losses seemingly beyond your control or you began questioning what’s important to you. Or you’ve glimpsed pieces to the puzzle of why you haven’t been able to create your best life: past memories, habits, repetitive thoughts, and/or painful emotions Yet you haven’t figured out how to fully unravel and completely release whatever is holding you back so that you can move forward toward your dreams. We are certain that once you start experiencing the power of this mind-boggling, heart-opening tool and harness it through our techniques, you’ll have similar inspiring internal transformations and external accomplishments. Of course, you’ll have to confirm this for yourself.

Don’ Wait….Make Your Heart Sing
- July 29, 2009
Don’t wait to be happy. Don’t wait till you have the right job, the right partner, the right amount of money in the bank. Don’t wait.
Find something right now that can turn your attention to; what is right in your life, what is good , and what makes your heart sing. Fill your own heart with your own happiness and the energy of that will lead you to complete your mission to create these vital pieces of your life.
But now you will have an energy vibration that will call to itself more of that same quality. Imagine a job in which you are truly happy….a partner that brings happiness to you. Imagine above all Happiness as the base-line feeling in your life….now…no matter what has shown up.
Something has got to be there to bring a warm glow to your heart. Find it and declare that it makes you happy….perhaps for no particular reason at all!
Spiritual Transformation: Summer – The Fullest Expression of Abundance
- July 06, 2009
Summer is the fullest expression of the abundance of life and it comes with an invitation to play and benefit from that fullness in our lives. This year it is even more important that we choose to enjoy what we have, here, right now and find happiness in the simple things we do daily.
Expansion is the energy of summer and why we so love this season and respond with activities that bring us closer to our friends, families and nature. However, at the same time that expansion is beckoning us to move with it, we might have noticed a little discomfort or reticence as we are still adjusting to the parts of our lives that want to contract or pull in as result of all the changes we have witnessed in the previous seasons and the fear that came with them.
Sure we agree we need to spend less, and save more and redirect our energy to our potential to create our future, while at the same time adjust to what our lives looks like now, we might feel a bit of the push/pull effect. Perhaps a little uncertain about how much can we celebrate and open to this summer energy with so many things still unraveling and dissolving… so many directions unclear….maybe just a little hesitant to step fully into this summer experience?
What we have found to be true when we embrace our power as conscious creators is that we really DO have a choice as to how we will respond to whatever comes our way and this choice feeds an outcome. This doesn’t mean we can necessarily change how events will impact our lives but we can choose what we will “give back” to our lives as more of what is familiar “leaves our lives.” So being in transition as we are, as individuals and on a more global scale, we sometimes want to wait for clear evidence for a reason to at last exhale, let go and have fun. This might be the Summer in which we just choose to do that even if the evidence that “all is well, time to celebrate,” may not have shown up in outer world terms.
The more each of us trusts in the fundamental laws of cause and effect that are at work, the more we can choose to create our summer days from the simple desire to feel good, be happy, share it and act from this. It is time not only to trust this law but put our faith and our conviction in “all is well” and let that thought resonate through our bodies. The more we act from our inner power to choose our response the more we create it and more “wellness” grows and becomes evident somewhere in our lives. We can all raise our energy reserves and contribute positively this summer by making the simplest choice to be in the moment with “what is” and find enjoyment there. In this moment, take a deep breath, affirm “all is well” and discover the expansiveness of Summer living in your heart.
Emotional Awareness: What Have You Been Emotionally Eating?
- May 26, 2009
It has been said that “you are what you eat” and this is especially true when it comes to your emotional diet. Perhaps you have never thought about a diet in terms of an emotional one. It may seem enough of a challenge to just be concerned with what foods you are putting into your mouth, not to mention the possibility of paying attention to another equally important kind of diet. You are consuming emotional energy all the time even though you may not realize it. In other words, you are eating energy all time. This kind of eating may not show up as calories and nutrients in your body, but show up in your body it does!
Think of emotion as energy in motion. That energy is present everywhere you go where there is human interaction. And when you get caught up in your emotions and those of the people around you, you are eating the quality of energy the emotion is conveying. Many of you know that eating organic or minimally processed food is what is best for your body. What exactly is best for your emotional body and its diet? Just as with the food you put into your mouth, the same is true with emotional food – “you are what you eat.” Currently the American (if not most of the world’s) emotional diet is filled with “junk food.” Emotional “junk food” is the emotions that are the result of our old fear-based belief structure and all the thoughts, stories and internal dialogue that this program creates in your mind. If emotions are the energy that drives the human dream, then we can see clearly what the most prevalent emotions are – all you have to do is turn on your TV for the evening news. The content of the news has a very particular emotional flavor, and all the food it produces reflects the content of the stories reported.
Every movie or TV show you watch is constantly creating different emotional energies or messages within the content of the story. Even while reading a newspaper, magazine or a novel you will produce an emotional response to the content, even though it may be undetectable on the surface. If you observe people conversing, there is an emotional component to the topic they are talking about. All of the responses to your life experiences, from the very subtle to the very powerful emotional outbursts, resonate in your physical body as sensation and show up in your body physically.
Perhaps it is becoming clear that the quality of your emotional diet determines the quality of your life. The programmed mind and all of the interpretations you make daily are what create the emotional or feeling response within you and in all the people that you interact with. You are constantly eating emotions but what are the quality of the emotions you are eating? In your own mind, your interpretations and the thoughts and stories that you create in your internal conversations, create a corresponding emotional response. This is what becomes the basis of your emotional diet. When you practice awareness, you are putting your attention on the content of your internal dialogue and assessing whether it contributes to your emotional well-being or if the content contains beliefs that diminish your self worth and intrinsic value. You are also becoming more willing to experience the feeling in your body because there is valuable information in what your body is telling you. In your practice of mastering awareness, when you no longer support or agree with false beliefs in your mind, then right away, a formerly unhealthy emotional diet begins to transform and you will notice this in the way you feel.
When you can really see how your emotions are created and you take responsibility for what you are “feeding on” then you empower yourself to make long lasting changes in your feeling body. When those old reactions that feel as though you have been blind-sided without knowing how you got there, you can see them as learning opportunities. The old response was the question, “How can I control my emotions?” With more awareness, the more appropriate question is, “How can I monitor the beliefs and thoughts created in my mind and put choice into action?” The choice is always to believe what you hear within your own mind – or to not believe yourself (or anyone else). By challenging your beliefs about yourself and the personal stories that are filled with self-judgment, and realizing that making the choice of more self acceptance, you can manifest a change your emotional diet and start eating emotional food that is actually good for you.
Emotional Awareness: The Power of Practicing Acceptance
- May 22, 2009
We all seek the home that is calling us from within and to answer that call, the call of your soul, can present some unique challenges. Your individual response to this dynamic purpose places you exactly where you need to be – within the possibility of acquiring clear self reflection from the circumstances of your current life. The experiences you are having now and what is showing up in your life are the real gifts for you. For if you are having the experience at this time, then it must be the one that is best suited to bring to your attention what you are now ready to see in your life. These are the opportunities that come to us again and again until we are ready to be with “what is,” rather than how we think it should be.
Being with “what is” is just another way to describe the powerful act of acceptance. True acceptance in this sense is the ability to question your stories and the meanings about the situation at hand, and to suspend the interpretation you are having long enough to create a gap of awareness. On the occasion when you can suspend the need to know and accept what is showing up, the opening is created where all transformation comes from. Divine intelligence within you is doing its best to give you what you most need to answer the call of the soul as it heads home. Something is showing up that may not look like what you expected, but practicing acceptance brings you to the moment and dissolves all expectations, so you can experience life fully just as it is.
Somewhere along the way you have asked for more self awareness, or for more spiritual clarity, or perhaps more loving relationships. To accept, means to accept that your highest good, or the power of your intent which comes from these desires you have stated, is unfolding right there in front of you. To understand the power that you have when you ask from your deepest desire is to begin to understand what then has to show up in your life: everything that is an obstacle to the desire or intent you have expressed! These seeming obstacles are simply the opportunity for you to choose again in favor of your desired intent. It is part of the perfectly unfolding plan to bring into manifestation the content of your heart’s desire. Your heart’s desire is the silent working of the soul as it calls you home. To practice acceptance is the way we can most honor ourselves as powerful creators aligned with the God-force of pure potential.
Toltec Wisdom: Mastering Authenticity
- May 14, 2009
We are masters because we have the power to create. We are creating in every moment, and the magic tool we use for creation is the word, the words that we use with ourselves and with other people; the words that we use to describe ourselves and the world around us. Our power to create is so strong that whatever we believe comes true. But what is it that we have created? What is it that we have mastered? This question is easy to answer by simply looking at our lives. What is present in your life right now is the result of what you have mastered. Is your life filled with happiness, friendship, and abundance or have you limited your creation with beliefs and concepts that limit the flow of these things?
When we awaken and have the courage to see our lives and everything that we have created, we can reclaim our power as the creator. As self-realized creators we can take responsibility for our creation, the same way that an artist can create a new work of art. This new creation begins with honesty and by looking closely at the beliefs we have about ourselves. Once we do this, we begin to notice that the words we use silently within our own mind are the most powerful words of all, for it is with these words that we manifest everything.
Recovering the authentic self is a process of unlearning the beliefs and habits that define who we think we are in order to become who we truly are. The authentic self creates from our true feelings, and our feelings are the basis of our integrity. To live from our integrity is to know that we are choosing the beliefs we will create from, and we use the emotions as the barometer for this choice. Our emotions are the messages from the authentic self. They are ever present and always speaking to us, but we interpret our emotions through our beliefs and often judge and reject them.
When we become aware, we can see that every thought and belief has an emotional response. If we find our emotions to be uncomfortable or out of balance, we simply need to look at what we believe about ourselves in order to bring our emotions into a new light. There is no such thing as a negative emotion; it is only our judgments about the emotion that causes a negative reaction. Mastering new words of self-love will allow the emotional body to feel wonderful!
