Spiritual Transformation: Opening Up a Contraction

By Ellen Luksch

    Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

I have been noticing my mind’s reactions to what it considers periods of contraction.  Periods of contraction look like slow financial flow, recoveries from injuries or illness, job loss, relationship loss, loss period.  I notice that loss is a way my mind perceives life when its expectations aren’t met.  Once my mind interprets loss, it creates a definite emotional reaction in my body, read tight solar plexus or sore throat, or a sinking feeling in the gut or “who put the ice around my heart?”  Then my mind wants to start the process of contracting on the contraction, read “oh no!”, “what if?”, “what now?”, or “what then?”  I see my mind creating feelings of more and more separation from the flow.  “What flow?”  “The flow of life, of love, of abundance. “ It separates and wants to know why.  It separates and wants to know who or what is responsible for that separation… lover, boss, friend, foe or God.  Perhaps, there is even something I have done wrong to make this turn of events what it is.  My judge surfaces.  My mind wants to fight.  My mind wants the quick fix.  My mind wants to jump-start the next expansion.

Ahhhhh.   Every contraction brings an opportunity to see the stories I have created in my emotional memory with great clarity.  Nothings like a good contraction to bring old, unconscious fear to awareness.  Those parts of us scream if the contraction is tight enough.  All the old anger, blaming, fear, hurt and judgment rise to the surface.  All the feelings we resist and hold hostage and deny, rush out of their closets to get a breath of air.  It’s about being a human blessed with a highly developed survival-based fear brain embedded in a brain wired to tell stories.

I now have a choice.  It is a choice to experience the flow that I am by allowing the energy of emotion to move through the blockades my mind has constructed.  I can gently encourage those parts I’ve denied to come to the surface because I have invited them.  I can create an open field that welcomes the dialog so I am no longer run over by emotions escaping a locked closet.  By attending to those inner contractions from the point of view of acceptance instead of belief or of denial, those contractions begin to transform themselves.  The beauty is that giving those emotions my full acceptance allows a miracle to happen.  When that energy flows, it jump-starts feelings of freedom, creativity, compassion and joy.  So, as Miguel’s fifth agreement states, “Be skeptical, but learn to listen.”  You just might hear the thread of the story that opens you to the fear beneath the anger, the hurt beneath the blaming, the part of you that needs to be seen, not believed, but seen nakedly and honestly so that forgiveness, release and flow can happen.  Once my internal flow begins, my external flow follows.  Once again, I am connected to my whole self and therefore connected to my whole life and the feeling of expansion is the result.

A contraction is an opportunity to notice its source of creation.  How can we ever be separate from the life flow that is what we are?  We never can be but we can certainly perceive and then feel that way.  It is possible to see the expansions and the contractions as a love letter.  It is possible to appreciate the perfection of a system that allows such healing and expansion to happen.  If we say so.

Love Letters, A Poem

Love Letters

I have been sending you love letters
every moment of your life.

Some made you laugh beyond reason
so you could know the joy of abandoning yourself.
Some made you weep for months
so you were bound to seek a soft shoulder
and later become that softness.
Some made you shake-your-fist angry
so you learned how to stand for yourself
and then how to stand for others
and finally how to stand still.
Some clearly terrified you
so you could feel your boundaries
and find they were porous
and find they were gone.
Some made your heart soar
in spite of anything you could imagine.

I have been sending you love letters
every moment of your life.
You are learning how to read them
for the encouragement  that they are.

The first handcrafted editions of Ellen’s book of poetry, A Dream of the Heart, are in process.  We’ll keep you posted.

Your Daily Energy

By Kevin Murray

    Saturday, March 27th, 2010

(excerpted from the upcoming book “Energize Your Business with the Law of Attraction“)

Everything required to create anything in your life is already here. If something is “missing” you need to raise your energy level to the energy of what you desire. This applies whether you desire more money, more free time, better employees, a better relationship, more ease or peace. Your greatest resource is your energy level. Do you pay attention to it? You manage other resources: money, clients, suppliers, gas in your car. Even if you have other great resources, if your energy is low, it is challenging to get through a day, let alone create big changes in your life. You are up to big things and ready to create a new level of prosperity for yourself. To attract anything “more” than what is in your life today requires increasing your energy. The energy I refer to is a combination of your physical energy and your emotional energy. You are more in control of your energy than you think. You are responsible for your energy level – no one else is.

Your energy follows your attention, and what you give attention to increases. As you pay attention to your energy level, you naturally feel your energy rise. This extra energy needs a place to go. Either you direct it with your attention or it will flow back to old beliefs and habits that may not be in the direction you want to go. How do you direct your energy with your attention?

This video is a gift. It invites us to pause for a moment and remember the beauty of life and the preciousness of each moment. A big thanks to Rosemary Nichols (one of our students) and co-creator of www.DreamoftheHeart.com who created this especially for Life Mastery Programs.  Her love of photography inspired this reminder for herself and we are happy to share it with you:

Attracting Your Ideal Clients

By Kevin Murray

    Monday, March 15th, 2010
Do you have great clients? Or just good clients? Or some clients that you would be better off without? How do you make sure, moving forward, that the new clients you attract will be the best possible ones for you? And how do you know what is best for you? Well, you start out by creating and Ideal Client Profile. Or maybe more than one, if you serve more than one market, or have different products and services.

A Heart Opening Experience

By Rita Rivera Fox

    Monday, March 8th, 2010

Recently, our Life Mastery Dreaming community and a group of wonderful new friends made another memorable journey to Teotihuacán, the ancient Toltec pyramids in Mexico. Each time we go to Teo, another layer of deepening on our path of our self-discovery is revealed: new ways to be more awake in our lives, to be more in touch with the source of energy that we carry within, and to embrace the potential of living from the heart.

As a teacher, I have observed that the more I can bring a person to experience the essence that already lives within them (rather than telling them in words), the more they will be inspired to awaken to that energy. Once they feel this resonance inside, they will want to live from that vibration more and more.  That is how it happened for me.

Well, each person on this journey experienced this very real power that lives at the center of our being.  Beyond words, beyond description, just pure experience of what we are all connected to, at all times. Reflected in the clear light of the sacred place in Teo, each of us embraced our true selves as we are.

This particular trip was especially focused on opening our hearts to how we perceive and dream our lives. Our mind does the dreaming and our bodies feel the impact of the quality of that dream. If we want our personal dream to bring us happiness and fulfillment, we need to find the courage to look within to our hearts as the guiding force in our lives, and get clear about what we are choosing instead of this.

Our heart center is the portal where we open to feel all that we are. During these days spent together, we opened a space of possibility and came away with a real sense of how to live our lives from more awareness of our connection to life. The time spent there allowed the energy of this opening to be felt as something real in the body. We created and experienced an energetic “groove” that our body remembers.

The energy from our recent retreat in Teo fed and empowered us.  It now naturally wants to flow forward and inform our daily choices more and more. After feeling so good, we want to experience this quality of energy again and again.

Now that we are back home, in our familiar dreams, we can quiet ourselves, receive our breath, and focus within on the memory of the sensations of fullness. This allows us tap into our incredible journey again and again. Keeping the heart center open allows us to live more lucidly, more in the flow of life.

Of course we will face challenges in our old dream but we are now better prepared in how we might respond to them. When in the elevated energy of a group in a sacred place, we may notice how clear the choice is to live from our hearts. But what choices are we drawn to make when we are at home? Will we react from our old limited ways of thinking? We might not always be able to make the choice to go beyond what closes our heart and instead choose what frees it.  But we can certainly feel the difference.

The choice to open or close your heart to what we face each day is what defines the spiritual path and delineates our practice. We can feel the difference when we choose to live from our hearts. The results are immediate. Our lives and our creations are seeped in a quality that feels like honey – the honey from the heart.  We can look around and watch this sweet quality manifest all around us.

So my desire for each of you, for all of us, is to find this golden place within as often as possible, to first give it generously to ourselves, and subsequently to share it with everyone who is in our lives. Then, with pleasure, we can watch it ripple out into the larger world, in waves of uplifting energy sent from our hearts.
