I just read your blog and have a couple of thoughts to share. First, thank you! Yes, it works! These days I so frequently find myself in power struggles with Annabella and I'm losing!! While I know intellectually to reinforce her positive behaviors and not to give energy or attention to the negative, I keep finding myself back in that reactionary place. It doesn't serve me or her and I end up feeling frustrated and desperate in how I parent. I have really been craving some ideas on how I can turn some of what's happening around. I really appreciate your authentic and compassionate thoughts, or better said, teachings on how to use our emotional energy to everyone's advantage. I love how you frame everything through the "energetic lens". Your words are a gentle yet clear reminder to me of how I would like to see myself mothering more often. (And speaking of Mothering...your piece would be a gem of a fit in that magazine.) You gave some relevent examples of how the practice works for you and Bodhi and I found myself nodding my head and taking mental notes as I read. But even beyond what you shared in your blog, it's a pleasure to watch you parent Bodhi in this fashion every time I see you. You lead with such patience and mindfulness...truly practicing what you "preach", but let me stress that you're not preachy in the least! So, while you may be impressed with how I'm managing Annabella and the babies, you truly are an example to me.
